As a Year 4 or Year 5 parent, now is the time to be visiting the Grammar schools you are interested in. In the Bexley and Kent area we are so lucky to have a wide array of outstanding Grammar schools within easy reach and with the SET results about to be released imminently, you will find most of the grammar schools have scheduled their open days throughout October.
Most schools will have day and evening Open day sessions. The best time to a visit the schools is during the school day to get a real feel of the atmosphere of the school. So for the schools that you are most interested in, try to attend the Open Morning sessions where you can, leaving the Open Evening sessions for those that are lower in your priority list.
Make every effort to take your child with you so that they too can get a feel for the schools...After all, they are the ones that will be spending the next 5-7 years there!
